Contemporary Hit Radio has certainly had its ups and downs as a format, but in spite of all the dire predictions of its imminent demise over several decades, it’s as strong and viable as it’s ever been. Radio stations all over the world use Dave as their “signature” voice, setting them apart from other stations in their market with the power of clarity and depth, while retaining a sense of humor.

The lights go down and a hush settles over the movie-theater, as the giant screen turns green, saying the following has been rated G for General Audiences. The voice that soon follows can either make you laugh or cry, scream or sit in rapt silence. That voice could very well be Dave Foxx.

Rock

Ever since Alan Freed started using the term Rock ‘n Roll back in the 50s, signature voices on Rock stations have gravitated to a super dark, hipster sound that evoke a “bad boy” attitude. Dave is really good…at being bad. Even radio station Mix-FM in Beirut, Lebanon, a mainly dance outlet, gets excellent results with Dave’s bad-boy attitude.

Country

Country music is about as American as you can get. Although many a country song cries about lost loves and lost dogs, it’s also one of the real “feel good” formats. Country music fans can spot a phony from a mile away, so the signature voice needs to be sincere and fun loving. Enter…Dave Foxx.
